The Ministry of Tourism is the nodal agency for the formulation of national policies and programs and for the co-ordination of activities of various Central Government Agencies, State Governments/UTs and the Private Sector for the development and promotion of tourism in the country. The Ministry is headed by the Union Minister for Tourism and Ministers of State.

The Ministry of Tourism promotes the MICE sector through the “Meet in India” sub-brand, a National Strategy, and city-level Convention Promotion Bureaus, focusing on business events like meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions.

Ministry of Tourism has identified MICE as one of the important segments of Tourism, and has formulated a National Strategy and Roadmap for the MICE Industry to promote the growth of the MICE industry in the country.
